Objective: design a product specifically for one person by using a 3D scan.
The Form Fit Case is an IPhone 17 case that fits the user both physically and personally. It addresses ergonomic concerns and is molded to the user’s pinky and ring fingers with the goal of comfort. By utilizing a 3D scan of the client’s hand, the Form Fit Case is modeled specifically for one user.
Ideation
I wanted to explore products that I used frequently, and where they cause me discomfort. I landed on creating a phone case that was molded perfectly to my pinky and ring fingers.
Modeling
I scanned my hand using the Polycam app and then modeled with it as a reference in Solidworks. I added some personal features such as additional case thickness and an integrated phone wallet.
